NAMI’s Ending the Silence is a free mental health education program designed to teach middle and high school students about the warning signs of mental health conditions, signs of suicide, and how to seek help.
I was tasked with designing and animating a comprehensive motion graphics toolkit that would not only support the educational content but also resonate emotionally with a younger demographic.

Emotional Resonance Through Animation
Creating visuals for mental health education requires a delicate balance. The graphics needed to be approachable and engaging for teens without minimizing the gravity of topics like suicide prevention.
Additionally, from a production standpoint, the NAMI video editing team needed a scalable solution. Because the content would be deployed across multiple mediums, the editors required maximum flexibility to alter text, timing, and placement without needing to open Adobe After Effects for every minor change.
The challenge was to empower the video editing team with complete creative control and rapid iteration. So we built the entire toolkit—including opening titles, lower thirds, and the 50+ topical graphics—in Adobe After Effects and exported them as Motion Graphics Templates (MOGRTs). This provided several key benefits:
Drag-and-Drop Efficiency: Editors could pull the assets directly into their editing software.
Customization: Editors could easily update text layers, adjust colors, and modify timing directly in their timeline.
Brand Consistency: By locking in the core animation keyframes and design parameters, NAMI's visual identity remained strictly cohesive across hundreds of potential video iterations.
